We left St. Pancras Station / Kings Cross heading toward Gatwick airport via the Thameslink railway. It was our first time using this rail system. It’s quite something to consider how much infrastructure we take for granted in a city, or in a physical body.
We no longer had the use of the hotel wheelchair, so Lanny used his walker. It was quite taxing. I was grateful to have the assistance at Gatwick airport to get through security, and then to the gate.
Lanny reminds me that he doesn’t feel old in his mind. And then when he sees the pictures I take of him, or when he looks in the mirror, he can’t understand how he’s gotten to be this old.
We’re in Ibiza for an event titled “Return to the Magical Island”. Lanny and I haven’t been here before. And I’m excited to see some friends at the event.

Rental cars in Europe behave differently at traffic lights… The motor turns off… When one presses the clutch to engage first gear, the motor restarts… It takes some getting used to.
