We moved hotels today. The location was too remote for Lanny to hang out alone while I’m at the 5 day event which starts tomorrow. We learned an accessibility lesson. Lanny has used a walker before for periods of time, but not while traveling. The terrain is so different here.
I've noticed on our trip he's not quite up to speed. He’ll definitely have more roaming around space in the new hotel. And I'm not ready to leave him to his own devices yet. So I reached out to the event organizers to find out if I could bring Lanny tomorrow. The response to my request was absolutely positive! I’ll feel better if I can keep an eye out on him.
I asked the hotel attendant for a restaurant recommendation on the south side of the island given that we had been in the north side of the island yesterday. If I could, I would drive the perimeter of the whole island. My son Joshua and I did that when we traveled to Honolulu not long ago.
Once we got there, I wasn’t feeling the place. So, I parked to ask Google for an open restaurant, with wheelchair accessible entrance. We drove 12 minutes to Cala Tarida Beach to Ses Eufàbies Restaurant. Lanny and I had a fabulous time having a late lunch, then watching the sunset.
I picked up my friend Lidewij from the airport. She arrived to attend the event from Rotterdam. It's her 62nd. birthday tomorrow Thursday!! We celebrated her birthday together last year in Corfu, and she's excited to do it again. As you might know by now, I love celebrating birthdays. We’re looking forward to making this a yearly tradition! She’s staying at a different hotel within walking distance of our new hotel. She and I discussed hotel options on WhatsApp. I was so sure which hotel she was booked in that I walked her to the wrong hotel! I was reminded of the book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz. I skipped Agreement 3: Don't Make Assumptions!! It’s a good thing the correct hotel wasn’t too far!
